I went up to Foothills Parkway tonight in hopes of photographing the Super Moon rising behind the Smokies. When I got there I could tell that the clouds and the haze hanging low over the mountains was going to prevent that from happening. So, I went to plan B and went on up to the west side of the Parkway to photograph the sunset. It did not disappoint. So, while all the other photographers I saw were facing the east waiting on a moon to rise, I had the sunset all to myself. After the sun set, I went back down to the east side of the Parkway and after about 15 minutes the moon finally started peaking out from behind the clouds high above the mountains.
