I will be going back to my CW9 and 1st Constantia roots this - TopicsExpress

I will be going back to my CW9 and 1st Constantia roots this weekend - mentally unfortunately. One of the Springbok candidates, that I am evaluating, is doing a Cedarberg Hike and the route he is following is much the same that I did in my first outdoor activity with 1st Constantia (1977). We started at Pakhuis, moved onto Heunigvlei, where we spent the 1st night. From there we went to Boontjies Kloof (where we should have spent night 2) and then up Skerpioens Poort. We slept somewhere just past the summit ,as we missed the path to Crystal pool. The next day we made it to Crystal Pool and then went NW onto the Middleberg hut and down to Algeria. Simon from 1st Blaauwberg will be going SW from Crystal Pool and down to the Uitkyk pass. Our Party consisted of Tertius ( Austalia) Slothauber, Howard (Stockley Sisters) Marx, Chris (deceased)Van Breda, Malcom (New Zealand and minus a finger thanks to a mortar) Stuck, Wayne (Mole) Cole, who I spoke to yesterday at Hyper and Myself. Howard and Tertuis are on this FB page as well. I am looking forward to getting the log and seeing from his photographs how things have changed. Cobra missed the hike as his Dad was ill, but we all joined up eventually at Driehoek. But that is another story.
