iOS 7.1 is Reportedly Causing Personal Hotspot Problems iOS 7.1 appears to be causing Personal Hotspot issues for many users, according to a growing thread on Apples Support Communities. Following the update, some users have been unable to save APN settings for personal hotspots. The information can be entered into the APN fields of the Cellular Data Settings menu; however, the values do not save. The problem has been reported by users with various devices including the iPhone 4, 4S, 5, and 5s. One report says the bug was present in all the betas leading up to the public release but never addressed. - Hi all, the same problem in Italy with Wind Carrier and (at least) iPhone 4. Im an iOS developer, and I raise a bug issue since the beginning of this problem in beta 2-3-4-5. Apple engineers replied to me with please attach a screenshot of the problem. Obviously the problem is very simple to explain, e.g.: iphone4, ios 7.1 beta5, change hotspost apn settings, go back, forward again into apn settings, and changes are not kept. So, if this is the level of Apple engineers ... what the f### of a screenshot should I attach? Bah ... really thinking to switch to Nexus 5. - Some reports suggests that Apple has blocked personal hotspots for carriers that do not allow the feature; however, there are posts from users whose carriers do support tethering that refute this assumption.
