I will be joining Senators Ted Cruz, Jim DeMint, Joni Ernst, Charles Grassley, Rick Santorum, and Mike Lee, Governors Terry Branstad, Chris Christie, Jim Gilmore, Mike Huckabee, Sarah Palin, Rick Perry, and Scott Walker, Congress Members Marsha Blackburn, Rod Blum, and Jeff Duncan, Ambassador John Bolton, Dr. Ben Carson, my friends Newt Gingrich and Donald Trump, and many other great conservatives as a speaker at the Iowa Freedom Summit in Des Moines a week from Saturday. This event is sponsored by Citizens United and Congressman Steve King and is a great opportunity to spread the message to potential candidates and Republicans generally that New Hampshire grassroots activists are committed to a conservative candidate winning next year’s New Hampshire presidential primary. We can and we should join with our fellow conservatives in the early decision states of Iowa and South Carolina to ensure that the Republican Party is lead by a conservative presidential candidate in November 2016. We must not again fall victim to the quadrennial head fake that starts off with establishment Republicans and the liberal media telling us to nominate a moderate so we can win and ends with that moderate losing because he can’t draw any significant distinctions between himself and the real Democrat candidate. Republicans win when we directly and unapologetically present our philosophy of liberty permitted by limited government and founded on individual sovereignty directly to voters.
