I will confess that I am a telliholic-- I watch way too much TV. I have to say that I am struck by the number of people who are into The Walking Dead. I was a huge fan of the CSI franchise for a lot of years until Grissom left, and then I primarily watched the Miami installment until it was abruptly cancelled. CSI brought the gruesome details of death into our homes for the first time on Network TV through the eyes of science. But The Walking Dead just brings gruesome gory death into our homes (NOT mine by the way). What is this sad attraction to zombies and vampires really all about? Are we really just wanting to be entertained by the really gross and gory, or are we feeding an inner desire to live on the dark side?
