I will frequently have clients want a certain month for a portrait session, but they arent quite ready to pick a date for whatever reason. I do not require retainers until a date is set. Please understand that while I do my best to keep some availability open for those clients, I have to give priority to clients who are ready to book. If I didnt, Id have to turn everyone else away waiting on a session that may or may not happen, and I simply cant remain a business that way.
