I will never forget this fateful day in 2001. It was a beautiful and hot summer day. The skies were clear and so blue. Then horror forever marred this date as death fell from the sky. Many, myself included, wondered the fate of friends and loved ones. A nation stood still, transfixed by the horrific images of the iconic Twin Towers collapsing into rubble. Many people were lost, as was the thought that these things happened elsewhere but not here. I will never forget the countless missing signs plastering the outside walls of hospitals from people searching and hoping against all odds that their loved ones were not amongst those of the fallen. I want to salute all those who lost their lives and those who were left behind.
