I will not let Caseys death be in vain. I will use it as an example to anyone and everyone that will listen as to what can happen if you dont get your pets to the vet asap when they are throwing up. Even it you spend 80-150 bucks to get xrays and/or blood work done to find out they just ate cat poop and it made them sick and they will be fine, it is worth every penny. If I had known how quickly he could go downhill, he would have been at the vet the very first time he threw up. I know hindsite is 20/20, but I never want anyone to go through what I have been through the past few days. I seriously was afraid I was going to end up at the ER because I couldnt breathe when they told me he had passed away. Today at lunch my boss and I were talking about things dogs eat, and our waitress said her dog had eaten a pack of gum before she left for work. I asked her if it was sugar free and she said yes. I told her to get that dog to a vet to get checked. Xylatol (sp?) is deadly to dogs. She went right away and called her husband who was home and told him to take the dog to the vet. Maybe I helped her save her dog. Even if he wasnt going to get real sick from it, now she knows and will keep a better eye on him. Casey, I promise I will do all I can to keep what happened to you from happening to any other pets out there. I can at least do that for you.
