I will try again - In;ally getting a chance to sit and just think about Mom (Grammy, Marjorie, etc). I think our relationship was different from that of most Mothers and Daughters primarily because she was only 17 when I was born; Dad left us alone soon after that to go into the Service; then there was a new baby (Judy) - actually born on my second birthday - and NO, I dont remember ever being upset about that! So, we were a family of 3 until Dad came home after the war. When my daughters were little, we lived in Adel (where Mom and Dad were living) and Mom watched my girls while I taught school. Then, when I was divorced and moved back to Iowa with my girls, Mom was there again and we became a new kind of family - 2 Moms! - right girls?? Later on, when she and Grandpa Bob decided that they needed to seriously plan for retirement (he was in his 90s then!), they moved to Des Moines and we found the Village in Indianola. Mom was always my best friend, my Rock, and I will miss her every day for the rest of my life. She was a remarkable woman and I was truly blessed.
