I wish people would stop trying to define other people by their actions. a persons actions are irrelevant. What matters is the intent behind the action. A robbery takes place, a man enters a store and steals a bag of chips. No matter how you look at this situation the man taking the chips is a thief, he has wronged society by not following the rules. Now lets ask ourselves why he took the bag of chips. Lets say in scenario A the chips were taken because the man just wanted the chips for no reason other than he desired them. this is just a theft through and through and should be handled as such. Now in scenario B, the man takes the chips because for whatever reason the man had not eaten in several days. Now this too is nothing more than a simple theft, But isnt this scenario alot easier to forgive and move past than the first? Doesnt the second scenario cry out for your forgiveness. The first scenario leaves people with the impression the man is nothing more than a common criminal. The second leaves us with the impression that that is a man who for whatever reason found himself in a dire circumstance and did what he had to do to improve his situation. This man could very well be a fully functioning member of society with ideals much like our own. Im not sure anyone in that persons situation wouldnt do the exact same thing he did. The actions a person takes can never be undone, but a person can learn to not do those things again if the reason is rooted out and understood. Bad things happen sometimes, that will never change. what can change is how you look at those bad things and adapt.
