I wish they had something like Make a Wish or something similar for Carers! Dont get me wrong in no way do I want to take anything away from people who live with illnesses, diseases and chronic pain, because they deserve every kind of help and support and kindness they receive. I just believe that the carers are forgotten about sometimes and they also suffer in their own ways too. I know a lot of carers dont do what they do day in and day out for recognition, they do it out of love. But at the end of the day they are only human too and Im sure (even though many wouldnt admit it), they would love a lovely break somewhere nice or something of their choice that would bring back some happiness or spark back into their lives, a bit of a breather so to speak. I see so many carers that silently suffer in their own way, but would never say anything, as they take their role seriously and that is what they do for their loved one! But the stress and worry that carers live with can take its toll and can start to effect their health. I believe that carers are amazing people and do a totally wonderful thing to care for someone who is ill, but they are human too ... its the old saying ... Who Cares for the Carer? I for one would love to see something put in place for our amazing carers! Just my opinion :)
