I woke up and Jake, our Jack Russell, had gotten under the bed and we got him out and brought him to the living room. He did not want to lay on my lap so I laid him on the sofa next to a soft blanket and he laid there a few minutes and turned his head over to the side and took his last breath. We have wrapped him in the coverlet that was his and put him in a box and will burry him sometime this morning. I had just said a prayer that he could go and not be so short of breath and he went peacefully. I know that Press is so heart broken and he is crying like a baby. We both have but we are glad he is not hurting and that we did not have to put him down because we could not make ourselves take him to the vet because he was always so scared and shook so much. I am so thankful to Dr. McKaskill that she got his teeth pulled and he had a good last 9 months and was happy and playful to the end. He was 12 years and 4 months old and he will be missed so badly by us. You can pull up Presss facebook site and see Jakes picture. I am so thankful that Press got Max the boxer a month ago so he wont be so lost. We have been blessed to have know Jake and had the pleasure to be his parents for the past 9 years. Rest in peace buddy and know that you are loved. Our hearts are broken for now but I am so thankful that you are not in pain or breathing so short anymore.
