I woke up sad today. A friend of mine told me yesterday was national unfriend day on Facebook. To my conceited surprise, I have lost several friends according to the numeric counter at the top of the page. That made me quite sad. I always try very hard to have a positive page. Maybe too much video, maybe too much Scripture, who knows. My mind was whirling. I thought about how Jesus mustve felt in John 6:66-67 whenever people began to turn away because he began to talk about his real mission here. I want to say thank you for every person on Facebook that reads my posts. I want to be encouraging, joyful, occasionally deep, and nondramatic. Thank you for being my friend. God, would you teach me please, how to use social media as an uplifting voice? Help me Lord to be genuine. Speak so that we can be encouraging. Lord, I want to be a breath of fresh air in a place where religious life is very stale. Help me to speak truth, lovingly, simply, authoritatively. Help me to speak firmly only when I must. Please Jesus give us the strength to be what we should be as Christians. In Jesus name, amen.
