I wonder, at what point does Faith stop and Ignorance begin? I - TopicsExpress

I wonder, at what point does Faith stop and Ignorance begin? I have a lot of Athiest friends and for the most part we respect each others opinions. I dont think theres anything wrong with being Athiest. Someones religion is irrelevant compared to their actions. And the same goes vice versa. They respect my faith because I dont shove it down their throat. I digress. On the off chance we get into a theological debate I often see the points they bring up and the argument is more against organized religion as oppose to personal faith. But they talk about the obvious flaws in many biblical stories and the hypocritical verses in the Bible and many other religious texts and they bring up a fair point. At what point does my Faith become Ignorance? How can I believe one quote in the Bible but completely disregard another? Am I just following mindlessly because it is expected of me, because it is how Ive always done something? As a Catholic should I expect redemption for my sins but then berate another for theirs? At what point does Faith become Ignorance? I dont think true Faith is something that was ever meant to be followed. I think it was something that we were suppose to create for ourselves and take with on our own personal journeys. Food for Thought.
