I wonder why this regime likes controversy. People have accused Modu Sheriff of being a Boko Haram apologist, and before one could shout Ebele, they were seen together in Chad. Again, while some people have been indirectly linking the CAN president with some unwholesome acts, the next thing is that his aircraft was hired to purchase arms on behalf of the govt. If the govt was sincere why should it charter a plane owned by the CAN president knowing fully well the wrong signals it will send when things go awry? When has the govt start sending a few nameless people to purchase arms on its behalf and it was handled wrongly? Why should the CAN president or his interest be involved in such sensitive issue? Methinks something is wrong somewhere. By the way, if an aircraft owned by a muslim cleric were used for such assignment what would be our response? The fraternity between the CAN leadership and the Presidency is too cordial and should be discouraged by well meaning Nigerians.
