I would gladly welcome someone with a profound grasp of developmental neurology to answer the following question that I am asking in all earnestness: Why not spread out vaccinations--most important to least, 2 at a time--after the first year of life as the childs neurology develops/integrates, rather than all 9 before 18 months? Is there a double-blind study that proves the efficacy of vaccinations have a critical window? Or is this strictly an epidemiological concern? It seems to me that public discourse is suffering from a black-and-white logical fallacy: To vaccinate or not to vaccinate. Failure to vaccinate causes outbreaks of terrible diseases, agreed. But I would like some actual science that says that waiting a few months is also an equally terrible idea. And before we start with the ad hominems, and you are quick to group me with the Jenny McCarthy vaccination-haters... My official position is: I believe very strongly that people SHOULD be vaccinated. I would just like some evidence that the CDC vaccine schedule is founded on evidence-based principles.
