I would like to clear a few rumors that have managed to propagate - TopicsExpress

I would like to clear a few rumors that have managed to propagate for some time, now: During the past year, there has been a small group of uninformed individuals who have insisted, again and again, that 100.1 Fox-FM has been operating in some manner as an unlicensed station. No amount of information seems to set these people straight. Therefore, I am posting a current copy of our station license. These people also seem very determined to create the illusion that 100.1 Fox-FM is somehow lesser in power and does not broadcast as clearly or as far as other Jasper FM stations. Well, for starters, there is no other Jasper FM station. (A current listing of all FM broadcast stations licensed to Jasper, Alabama, is available at this link: transition.fcc.gov/fcc-bin/fmq?state=AL&call=&city=Jasper&arn=&serv=FL&vac=&freq=0.0&fre2=107.9&facid=&asrn=&class=&dkt=&list=1&dist=&dlat2=&mlat2=&slat2=&NS=N&dlon2=&mlon2=&slon2=&EW=W&size=9 As to the claims that 100.1 Fox-FM is somehow lesser that other Jasper FM stations, I would submit the following link which shows that there are indeed two FM TRANSLATORS (not actual stations) licensed to Jasper and, of the two, W291BT broadcasts with a power of 55 watts and W268BM broadcasts with a power of 250 watts as compared with the licensed 100.1 Fox-FM power (Transmitter Power Output) of 320 watts. transition.fcc.gov/fcc-bin/fmq?state=AL&call=&city=Jasper&arn=&serv=FX&vac=&freq=0.0&fre2=107.9&facid=&asrn=&class=&dkt=&list=1&dist=&dlat2=&mlat2=&slat2=&NS=N&dlon2=&mlon2=&slon2=&EW=W&size=9 Why have I not done this sooner? Before jumping in and immediately proving someone wrong, I like to wait and see if the rumors will die-off without making anyone look totally ignorant.
