I would like to congratulate all other community groups that are out there doing their best in making sure that members of our community are looked after and cared for. This is not an easy task and it requires a lot of hard work. A nation that looks after its poor people is always blessed by the Almighty. Look at countries like Germany and United Kingdom for example, you hardly see a human being going to sleep on an empty stomach. And as a result, those countries prosper economically because those less fortunate residents in those countries do not raise their hands to complain and curse their states. But in countries where the poor get poorer, you will see and hear them cursing their nations “Serikali dhaalim hii, kazi zao ni kunyanyasa raia wao watajirike na sisi tuzidi kudhoofika. Mungu awalani watu hawa “and a result the country is not blessed. I believe if we too Kenyans as a community, continue to look after our own less fortunate people, then The Almighty will InshaAaallah bring His blessings too to our ailing country. My main concern though is unity. Amongst all this goodness, there can grow an element of disunity. I mentioned this last week during the Pilipili FM interview that, unity is vital to our efforts and to our success. We as a community at large , all of us, we should not at any given time encourage or give strength to ideas and words that will create divisions amongst us, it does not matter what the name of the group is in Facebook we should be very careful. Even a small hint of this dangerous plague should be stopped immediately. The main reasons for us to have gone out of our way and worked so hard in bringing this awareness of helping the community is to ensure that first there is unity amongst us, so that we can sacrifice our time and effort and help the community together efficiently, continuously and successfully. Facebook is a very powerful tool. If used properly it can bring wonders to the community but if we get carried away and follow the way of the devil, it can bring huge loss and fitnah amongst us. Those less fortunate will be the one to lose out. I would like to finish this statement by some verses from the Quran that states the importance of unity and also about looking after the less fortunate. Regarding Unity: “And hold fast, all together, by the rope which Allah (stretches out for you), and be not divided among yourselves;” [Al-Qur’an 3:103] Regarding looking after the less fortunate: Translation by Dr.Shabbir Ahmed:.[6] Have you seen him who proclaims allegiance to the Divine System, but denies it in action? [53:33, 75:32-33, 95:7. Takzeeb = To give lie = Deny in practice = Reject in daily life] [1] He is the one who repels the orphan, the widow, the helpless, the one in a lonely state. [89:10, 69:34] [2] And urges not the feeding of the needy. And participates not in helping those who have lost their jobs, whose businesses have stalled, and whose hard earned income is insufficient to meet their basic needs.[3] May Allah give us the wisdom to understand and seeing the bigger picture of our actions and affairs and may He encourage unity amongst us and the will to sacrifice our time, wealth and effort for the less fortunate. With unity and sacrifice we will develop our community. Ameeen
