I would like to dedicate this to my wife and loving mother, - TopicsExpress

I would like to dedicate this to my wife and loving mother, Jennifer Martinez; and I apologize ahead of time for me not having all the words to do justice to this most unbelievable journey that she’s taken. Today is her last day, as she is stepping away from preschool ministry, a labor of love that she has cherished and been faithful to for almost 20 years now. She began her ministry at the age of 18, which still makes her the youngest preschool minister that I’ve ever known. She has served with World Harvest Outreach Church, Hyde Park Baptist Church, and now ends her ministry at The Connection Church. For those of you who know Jennifer, you know that she is a natural when it comes to children. Having 5 of her own, she knows what it takes to handle any and every chaotic situation that is thrown her way. And even if she doesn’t know, which is seldom, her optimistic “can do” attitude puts parents minds at ease, as her cup is never half empty, but always half full. She has always been hands on and leads by example, never just delegating responsibility. Parents love her, children love her, her co-workers love her, her family loves her, and most of all she loves her family, which is the sole reason that she has selflessly stepped aside. Jennifer cherishes her time with her family and unfortunately wasn’t able to commit to Saturdays, as it is our only day we all have off together as a family. And although ministry has always been a privilege to her, she knows that it has, and always will be, family first. So I end in saying this, Jen. I know that you are hurting inside, but always know that you’ve always made, and will continue to make an incredible impact on all of those who are privileged to be around you. Also, I heard a song on the radio as I drove to work the other day, and felt that it fit your situation perfectly. As you listen to this song, I ask you to read the lyrics and really take in the words to your huge heart, which I know is broken right now. We love you and are hopeful for better days ahead. And I do hope that you continue to dance. OPTIMIST (n.) Someone that knows that taking a step backward after taking a step forward is not a disaster; its a cha-cha. youtube/watch?v=iN9bwC5UZUs
