I would like to post a personal story... I know a girl who was 35 years old and never met her father...she felt lost and unloved as she felt the man could have been more of a man and reached out to her...this led to a lot of unresolved issues in her life and a lot of broken relationships. She always blamed her father for not being a father and showing her how to love someone...finally one day he reached out to her after hearing from a friend that she had mentioned him as being her father... He explained to her she was not his child, but he wished she were, he had DNA tests done when she was little as he planned on taking custody of her and he was disappointed to find out he was not her father...He did not know who her father was but he had no right to claim her, the mother told him, she knew he wasnt but had hoped he was and that was the end of the matter... The young woman was upset, all these years she had believed he was her father and when she confronted her mother, she explained that she did not know, but would have rather given her a pretend father than none at all, after all he was a good guy... The girl was in disbelief, all the anger she held for that man she thought was her father was not right at all, She thought he had ignored her and abandoned her, she was wrong, he had not...he was not her father and this changed her whole world, as the admission had cleared her soul, he was not a bad guy, he was a good guy, he was not ignoring her or denying her...he was not her father, he stepped aside to give her real father a chance... The moral of the story is, sometimes we believe we are forgotten and abused, we feel less of others because we do not know who we are...We blame others for the things in our lives they have no control of, We punish ourselves and feel better because of less than perfect circumstances... No matter who you are and who you came from, you have a purpose as valuable as your life is, it is special and it is meaningful...You are you and be grateful for that...
