I would like to say thank you to the five friends of mine who are of Asian, Hispanic, and white races, that wanted to personally chat with me to better understand my frustration, sadness, and pain regarding the Ferguson and other like situations. They admitted not witnessing, experiencing, or having any personal knowledge of the things blacks go through. Instead of blindly defending the officers, justifying the number of blacks being murdered at the hands of law enforcement, or ignoring our sadness, anger, and frustration, they chose to understand why blacks are upset and see things from my perspective. They chose to open their minds and accept the fact that there is a problem in this country. There was no finger pointing. There was no getting defensive for the discrimination, racism, and hate blacks have endured... Just understanding and compassion. For that I am very grateful.
