I would like to share something personal: A friend of mines, not - TopicsExpress

I would like to share something personal: A friend of mines, not being funny but more less concerned, said to me Wendi, do you think you would get sick less often if you lost a little weight? I did Not get offended, because lets be honest, I am considered overweight esp for my height. But what if I told you the doctors have said to me, I have blood work perfect, like a baby. I do Not have high blood pressure, I do Not have diabetes. I do Not have high cholesterol and my triglycerides are in normal range. What if I told you that my biological mom was diagnosed at the age of 33 with breast cancer and died five years later at the age of 38. And even though Ive been strong, Im struggling because Im 31yrs old & now realize she was so young. I remember everything and re-live it daily. My second mom, who was like my best friend, passed away almost 2yrs ago and I still struggle accepting that fact. What if I told you, I was in a car wreck a few years ago and my sciatic nerve was damaged causing me to take steroid shots which in turn causes weight gain as well. Now dont get me wrong, Im from Louisiana so I know how to eat Good but most of my weight is hard to maintain because of medication. My immune system is so low making it hard for me to fight a small illness I may get from time to time. Some of you will say, I did not need to say any of this and youre absolutely right, but the moral of the story is: We never truly know what someones struggle may be on a daily basis. Always remember this, The best things in life are free: Love, joy, peace, kindness, support, encouragement etc... Give and accept while you can. Stop taking life for granted. None of us are promised today! **My Smile is for you** Stay Blessed! 👐
