I am still talking about the #EbolaVirus When some Americans contracted the virus recently, the US government flew them to their country and treated them with the much talked about Anti-Ebola trial drug... Spain, Saudi Arabia, and Israel all flew their citizens who contracted the virus to their respective countries. And we have not heard any report that the virus has gone epidemic in these countries... A foreigner flew into Nigeria, and more than 100 people contracted the virus barely 10 days after. Is someone still wondering why??? I am amazed that some people calling themselves elites believe that the Ebola Virus outbreak in West Africa is Americas handiwork. Is it the Americans who use juju on many dirty Nigerians to make them disregard hygiene all the time? Diseases spread faster when you have open gutters, unkempt and very dusty streets like we have in this part of the world... The Government of Nigeria does not have a standard for laundering bedspreads in hotels, secondhand wears, etc. In civilized climes, there is standard for everything. You cannot sell secondhand cloths without following the governments recommendations for washing the cloths before selling them. Same applies to bedspreads in hotels... Furthermore, the Government of Nigeria has no standard for supervising eateries and roadside food sellers. These traders do the average Nigerian a lot of harm... The above, and so many other factors are responsible for the outbreak of Ebola virus and many other deaths in the country. So stop blaming the Americans for our collective negligence, ignorance, laziness and stupidity. BTW: I hear the United States has declined Nigerian Governments request to send the anti-Ebola virus trial drug down here. That is very good. I expect they will cite the lawsuit slammed against Pfizer some years ago. *Pfizer had applied a trial drug on some children in northern Nigeria..., unfortunately, the children died. So the Anti-Ebola Virus Trial Drug is a case of once bitten, twice shy. It will be even stupid of the Americans to send the drug they have not approved for human use in their own country to any other country...
