I would like to share that we from All India Mahila Sanskritik Sangathan had taken up this issue of Acid Attacks in Chennai and did a campaign against it. We not only stood by the victim but also took up the broader issue of acid attacks and conducted signature campign on a charter of demands. This was the movement we took up last year as a part of observing international womens day by observing one week protest against crimes particularly acid attack on women. We submitted the memorandum to the CMs office on 14.30.2013 (as CM and other ministers were busy with budget session and didnt give appointment to meet us) with more than 10000 signatures obtained from people in just 3 days involving just 4 volunteers. The memorandum met red tapism and is just lying in some desk.
