I would like to take a minute to respond to the many calls we have received today requarding the accusations from a competitive paint line saying that our paint contains lead. This is absolutely not true! Old Town Paints does not contain lead in any of our products! Old Town Paints is a Non- Toxic paint! We have No VOCs, are Eco - Friendly, We are a Solvent Free Paint, We have No Acrylic, We have No Latex. We have No Fungicides. We are APEO Free. We contain No Heavy Metals. We are Formaldehyde Free. What we do have is the honor to live, work and manufacture in the State of California. We are very proud to say that we are Made in the USA! Since we are made in the USA and our product is sold in the USA, we adhere to the US standards and we disclose all information about our products on our Label & MSDS Sheets. On our label, we list a warning.... WARNING! If you scrape, sand or remove old paint, you may release lead dust. LEAD is toxic. Contact the National Lead Information Hotline at 1-800-424 -LEAD or log on to epa.gov/lead. We list this information, because we know most of you will be refinishing pieces that most likely had been painted prior to 1978. Some paints manufactured prior to 1978 may contain lead. Since our Chalk Style Finish Paint is made to distress, we would like our consumers to be aware of any health risks associated with sanding the original old paint. It is unfortunate that this competitor misunderstood what we were trying to communicate. Old Town Paints strives to bring you the best products and service!
