I would like to take the time to introduce myself to the group. My current situation is this. My job was outsourced to a Company based in India after working 12 years for that Company. My last unemployment check was on 12/28/12 when Congress shamefully turned their back on us and let the Emergency Unemployment Extension expire. I sold my Truck to put food on the table and other necessary expenses. I went through my savings and have 15.00 in my wallet. I mention this not to complain but to let you know Im in the same situation. Many are in worse situations. That said. What are we going to do to rectify the problem? We can either feel sorry for ourselves and sulk and give up or we can come together as 1 voice. A UNITED voice for the LTU. If the EUI extension doesnt get passed whose to blame? Is it Congresses fault? Is it Obamas fault? Partially, but we have ourselves to blame for rolling over and taking it. Oh well Congress isnt doing anything so lets just complain about it. Write defeatist posts on Social Media instead of using the power of the Social Media to our advantage. Is there any member who knows how to build a Website? We could use this site as a registry of the 3.5 million+ LTU. Until we have names and addresses of these people we wont be able to organize anything on the National Level. We would need for them to show proof of them being unemployed to have list integrity. We write a 1 page brochure with the website address and distribute this to media outlets and radio shows and wherever we go. On the website we have 2 login sections. One for people who are LTU unemployed so we will have a database with their names addresses, email addresses and phone numbers(if they wish)the other for people that are working and are sympathetic to our cause. Everyone who registers and signs up would be encouraged to make a small donation to further the cause. 1.00 or 2.00 even I can afford that. We need money to run ads in the Media and Buses to go to our demonstrations at media sites if they refuse to cover our Story. There are some business and legal issues that need to be addressed. Does any member have expertise in that? I welcome anyones thoughts or suggestions on fine tuning this idea. LTU Strong!
