I would like to take this opportunity to address my fellow - TopicsExpress

I would like to take this opportunity to address my fellow conservatives, who are dissatisfied with the choices of candidates they seem coming from the Republican party. Both locally, and nationally. In following numerous FB threads discussing the Gubernatorial election, I hear a lot of people complaining about how they never have candidates that are conservative enough for their tastes, and therefore, they will not vote for Republicans. Or that the candidate in question, in this case Tom Foley, has not done enough to earn their vote. I would ask them to consider this: The reason that we lack very conservative choices, is because conservatives are not a reliable voting block year in, year out. Yes, I am blaming the victim here. Politicians running for office will reflect the beliefs of pool of people that show up and vote en mass in every election. This is why minorities are so readily catered too, by both parties. They show up and vote in every election. If a politician cannot depend on conservatives to come out and vote both for their beliefs, and against those that actively oppose them, why would any politician ever sign up for a strongly conservative platform? Unless and until conservatives and libertarians start voting with equal regularity, there will be no incentive for the parties to take us seriously. Staying home on election day, or registering protest votes for obscure unaffiliated candidates, all to show them, only shows them that they were right in not taking us seriously. Too be taken seriously, we need to show up at elections, and vote to ensure that candidates such as Malloy whom opposes all that we believe in lose. This will make ALL politicians take notice, and be wary of crossing us. Tossing away our votes, only ensures that they will mock us. I encourage each of you, to reach out to your neighbors, your family, and members of your church, and implore them to come out and vote to oust these far left candidates. Even if they do not love the choice, it will make things better in the short term, and help to ensure that we do indeed have more appetizing choices in the future. You can be sure that those voting for evil will not be staying home. With this plan, we can, and we will improve not only our politicians, but also our state and our nation, one election at a time. One improvement at a time. Thank you for your attention. Randy DaRos
