I would like to thank everyone who came out to participate in the parade today. I would especially like to highlight some people. Bob brought Abe Lincoln to life, and was a big hit. I could not even imagine choosing to wear those clothes on a hot day like today. But Bob chose to for the benefit of many others. Brent for heading up the Black Sheep helping with parking in the staging area. Diane worked tirelessly for months to help with pre-registration, and Glen, Joni, Sharon and Buffy, along with Diane, made registration go smoothly. Several, including Carol and Vickie helped Gailyn stay on top of the food and beverage station. We blew through all the water, doughnuts and bagels... as well as a whole lot of coffee and fruit punch. We lost one flag before the first right turn. We remembered two friends we lost this past year, as well as hung with many friends still here... some we dont tend to see except for at this event. Tim upstaged the mayor with his account of this years Run For The Wall experience. The parade is the highlight of the day for many spectators. And it would not be without your participation. One person counted 196 bikes for me... so I am rounding to 200 participating bikes. This means we had at least 300 participants... and we left the staging area cleaner than it was when we arrived. That is a credit to the quality of the people that came out. We are already looking forward to next year... The 10th year... of this parade. I hope you will all be back next year to celebrate.
