I would like to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving. As some of you already know this is a very different Thanksgiving for me. First, I am in Cyprus far away from home. Secondly, I have experienced every travelers worst nightmare. My mother, Ruth Parker, had to have emergency surgery after I left and did not do well. She died on Tuesday. Our daughter, Molly was able to be at her bedside. Her presence there brought me great comfort. Thoma Parker and Molly Parker are spending Thanksgiving together in Wilkes. Our son, Piero Pecora, is at sea with the USCG. I have good friends, Peter A. DeCaro and Philip Auter with me here in Cyprus. The many new friends I have made since arriving are being extremely gracious and are treating me with great kindness. Despite all that has happened in this past year, I have so much for which to be thankful. I appreciate the kindness that so many people have shown me for so long. I do believe that this existence is about what we can do for each other. So thank you one and all for being part of my life and making this crazy ride such a glorious adventure.
