I would really like to say Im a Republican, but I cant because of the way they treat poor people. I spoke with a young man tonight who told me he had just lost his job because they sold to another company but didnt tell the employees until the last day they were to be open. He said that company had been letting him sleep in his car on their property. He has two little children he tries to support that fortunately live with their mother somewhere. Most of the Republican legislatures Ive seen would #1 not want him to be able to collect his unemployment #2. God forbid he should be on food stamps. Just because some of us are blessed with good jobs, doesnt mean theres a good job for everybody. If youre blessed with a good job, dont waste your time looking down your nose at somebody who doesnt have a job that pays as well as yours does. But for the grace of God that could be any of us. The reason your house doesnt cost $1 million to build is because theyre men out there who work for $10 an hour or less, with no benefits, and no pay when it rains. These are also the very same people who have no health insurance, and they dont qualify for Medicaid, and they dont qualify for Obamacare, dont qualify for food stamps, and our government is going to fine them if they cant afford insurance. I cant be a Democrat either. Im ashamed of what our country has become since 9/11.
