I would say the 4/29 demonstration, which was led mainly by Haratines ( the former slaves of Arab-Berbers in Mauritania) has been successfully ended but not completely attaining the crucial goal. Some friends said that the presence of Arab-Berbers dominated the demonstration to prove the fact that Haratines are treated the same as the others, and also to prove the activists claim about Haratines being enslaved and discriminated was wrong. Despite the sympathy that the organizers of the demonstration received from various groups, individuals, and movements, there still much to go through. If the Arab-Berbers are truly convinced about equality between all Mauritanian components, mainly Haratines, they should prove that conviction by taking their own initiative as soon as possible and put pressure on the lobby that drives the excluding and racist system led by Arab-Berbers since the independence up to nowadays. They should get this system down in a way or another; otherwise, our demonstrations will end up by being infiltrated or infected by the monsters of corrupt leaders.
