I wouldnt lie to you, we live in a world where we have to fight - TopicsExpress

I wouldnt lie to you, we live in a world where we have to fight for our individuality or otherwise be swept with the crowd into limiting stereotypes and cliches. Id love to be on a magazine, all photo-shopped up, looking like plastic face lol. GQ, would be nice! On FORBES, as a business professional, even better! But why merely strive to be a model on someone elses magazine, and only add to the brand that diminishes your own? Why only add to the ideals that constantly lose touch with reality? Why not make your own? Do you know that every time you open your mouth and speak whats authentically on your mind, in truth; every time you wear clothes that appeal to you; write books/songs, give speeches, do dances, think your own ideas; start your own businesses; decide you want to be what you want to be; become your own political party; dream youre own dreams and dare not give up, you glorify God! We are fearfully and wonderfully made in the image of He who set us apart to speak and reflect an infinite spectrum of creativity and divine genius. That although almost 7 billion of us exist today, each and every one of us are worth knowing and have something different for the WORLDS to see. Its easy to be typified and limited by what genes or money has afforded you. I grew up being pushed into engineering because I could count and watched geeky stations like Discovery. Since i knew not myself in Christ, it was easier to let others pick for me. But man can only see what they can physically see, while God can see it all. He sees whats yet developed and your glorious end. Were all an amalgamation of assorted abilities, personalities, and interests. Who you are today can be something wonderfully evolved tomorrow. Its another thing to set a new trend - establish a new brand - where youre not limited by what appeals to most people, but instead appeals to the design God gave uniquely. Its Gods responsibility to reveal the blueprint, but its ours to take the time to seek and study it. In Christ, we find not just spiritual identity but social, intrapersonal, and cultural context for everyday life too. I am a man, a black one, brown skin, a brother to 5, a friend to those whom I have befriend, and a christian! I appear to be many things to different people, but I cant confuse who I am in Him. I believe I can do anything God has called me to do and I remind myself of that today. Im not great because you think so, or because GQ, FORBES, or any human institution or number of likes on social networks suggest it. Im great because God made me such, His workmanship who is loved beyond comprehension. Can you count the number of electrical impulses that reverberate in my cerebral cortex, or the exact number of cells that consist of my body?! No! So who can tell me absolutely, or set the limits on my potential? No one! Be a Victoria Secret model with one breast if you want to; be a Kobe Bryant at 4 feet if you have to! Only God can set the limit. Thats not a cocky statement. Its not a faith statement. Its a factual one! I encourage you, whatever your age, to seek the Lord about what makes you you, and fail not to strive towards it. The quality of your life and ministry to the world depends on it.
