I wrote this song for Bro. Lovis Phillips a few years back and seeing how its Pearl Harbor Day....I thought I would honor the memory of Bro. Lovis by sharing this song. I pray its a blessing and the Lord is glorified. Below are the lyrics to the song. He fought for me and you Back in World War II He served his country well Ah the stories he could tell Death came mighty close But he never tried to boast About all the things hed done He just gave Credit to Gods Son! And so he used his guitar to praise the Lord He played his heart out on every chord And gave a smile to his fellow man And was mighty proud just to be a part of Gods Great Plan! He sat up with the choir Never thinking hed retire He served his Savior well Ah those stories he could tell But time is never kind To the body and the mind And so he waited til the day When in heaven he would play And use his guitar to praise the Lord And play his heart out on every chord And give a smile to the angel band And forever praise the Lord for Gods eternal plan!
