IBM South Africa wants to make a difference in your lives with our awesome Scholarship Program initiative!!! The IBM South Africa Scholarship Program has been designed to financially assist the dependents of IBM permanent employees, pensioners and widow(er)s. Is your dependent a high academic performer and in need of financial assistance? APPLICATIONS FOR THE 2014 IBM SOUTH AFRICA SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM ARE NOW OPEN Eligibility: Dependants of IBM pensioner(s), widow(er)s or permanent employees who are not in receipt of any other scholarship or bursary support are eligible to apply for the Programme. This does not apply to Merit awards granted by the respective academic institutions. Definitions: A dependant is defined as a natural, legally adopted, or step child, who is totally financially dependant on the IBM employee, pensioner or widow(er), and is under the age of 23 in December of the year of application. Qualifying Criteria: New Applicants: Applications will be evaluated according to the following elements: Academic Results Business need Company affordability Financial need / assistance Application Form Renewal applicants The Scholarship is subject to renewal each year conditional on satisfactory progress, therefore beneficiaries must re-apply every year as it can not be taken as a matter of course that an award will be made. Each award is made for a period of one year only. In the case of supplementary examinations, the Committee may consider an application for renewal when the student passes the supplementary examinations and submits the results to the Learning Specialist. The Scholarship renewal will be based on the terms and conditions of the published policy. All renewal applications must include the 2013 results and signed contracts.
