#IBleedHorror #SeasonOfHorror #Horror - Day 102 The Last House On The Left Release Date: August 30, 1972 Distributor: Filmways Pictures Director: Wes Craven Producer: Sean S. Cunningham Music: David Alexander Hess Starring: Sandra Cassel / Lucy Grantham / David A. Hess Budget: $87,000 Box Office: $3,100,000 Rotten Tomatoes: 61% IMDb: 6.0/10 Phantom: 8/10 By all means, this is a classic. A pre-Exorcist film that blew people away with its vulgarity and violence. Definitely a shock-horror movie, which as Ive expressed before Im not much of a fan of, but it gets my respect for its reputation. It is a hard one to watch. But it must be recognized for how much it influenced the change in the genre. Im a firm believer in the idea that without this movie wed have no TCM or no Hills Have Eyes. This was probably a huge component in the creation of Friday The 13th, especially considering this films producer went on to direct it. This movie kick-started the career of one of the all-time masters of horror and its timeless reputation still has the same effect today.
