ICYMI: Sister Simone Campbell was on The Last Word With Lawrence ODonnell sharing stories of first time voters we were meeting along the road with Nuns on the Bus. We chose to go on the road this fall because we heard a statistic that 60% of Americans dont know there is an election this November. What we have learned: when women and men are struggling to provide for themselves and their families, it is a challenge to focus on much else. We need elected officials that support policies like raising the minimum wage, passing immigration reform with a pathway to citizenship, and providing healthcare access to all. This is the way forward: bringing our nation together, rather than widening the gap between people in poverty and the wealthy few.
