ICYMI: Today I testified before the Committee on Armed Services and shared my deep concerns on how the 2001 Authorization for Use of Military Force Against Terrorists (AUMF) is being utilized to drastically expand the powers of the President. These powers have paved the way for significant abuses of federal power, namely, AUMF’s allowance for the indefinite detention of American citizens, and broad, warrantless wiretapping by NSA.
