ID PROJECT: Okorocha slams senators Imo State governor, Chief Rochas Okorocha, has demanded an open apology from the Senate over accusation of registering Northerners in the state. According to him, what the senators involved themselves was nothing but blackmail of the state government. Okorocha, who spoke through his Senior Special Assistant, SSA, on Media, Mr. Sam Onwuemeodo, also took exception to what transpired in the Senate, on Thursday, July 3, 2014. “The distinguished senators engaged in wild goose chase by allowing themselves to be deceived into deliberating and having resolutions on a matter that does not exist in Imo State,” Okorocha said angrily. The governor described as curious the allegation against Imo State government over the alleged registration of Northerners in the state, which sadly began in Abuja and appeared strange to the government and citizens. “First, the minority leader in the House of Representatives, Alhaji Suleiman Kawu Sumaila, was the first to issue a release in Abuja on the allegation, and the Imo State government reacted immediately,” Okorocha said. He noted that in spite of the stout denial of the state government, the distinguished senators still went ahead to discuss the matter and took decisions considered most unfortunate and irritating. The governor said his administration knew those behind the blackmail, stressing that it was the same people who deceived Charly Boy into action of absurdity. (Vanguard)
