IDU’L- FITR CELEBRATED AT KALAKOTE Jammu : 09 Aug 2013 The Rashtriya Rifles Battalion, located at Kalakote, under the aegis of Counter Insurgency Force (Uniform), participated in Idu’l – Fitr celebrations today. A gathering of approx 2000 people took part in celebration and prayed for peaceful life of civil populace of J&K state with fervor and gaiety. On this auspicious occasion, Tea and Refreshments were catered by Army authorities for the gathering. People of all religions came together with Army and pledged to maintain peace and tranquility in the environment and also ensured that communal harmony of Kalakote will be maintained at all costs. This celebration gave opportunity for the Awam and Jawans to get together and exchange greetings for the auspicious occasion. The function was attended by Thakur Rachpal Singh, Hon’ble MLA Kalakote, Mr Abdul Majid Tantray, Tehsildar, Kalakote, Mr Pradeep, SDPO Nowshera, SHO Kalakote, Mr Jakir Hussain, President Muslim Committee and Army officials alongwith other prominent citizens. The unit also organised an Iftaar Party on 08 Aug 13 (Thursday) at Sialsui (Kalakote) on the auspicious month of the Ramzan. The aim of organizing Iftaar Party was to bridge gaps and brings about communal harmony in the society thus reaching out to the remotest of villages in the area. The get together provided a platform to exchange greeting between Awam and Jawan for the auspicious holy month of Ramzan. Iftaar get together was attended by Thakur Rachpal Singh, the Hon’ble MLA Kalakote, Mr Jakir Hussain, President Muslim Committee, Mr Babu Khan, Mr Mohd Sadiq, Sarpanch Dhalyote and people from the local area.
