IED blast in Poonch, sniffer dog hurt ‘Two Militant guides apprehended in Poonch and Rajouri’ =>A sniffer dog of army was injured when an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) blast occurred in Balakote sector near Line of Control (Loc) in Poonch district last night, officials said. An army official, wishing anonymity, told GNS that last night ten army troopers of 15 Bihar regiment had a narrow escape after an IED explosion took place Sata Cheer in between Rani Takri near LOC. He said the army men were on routine patrol. However, a sniffer dog of army sustained injuries in the blast, he said. Confirming the blast, the Sub Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Mendhar, Surrinder Chowdhary said all the army men are safe. This is the third blast on LoC in Poonch in recent days. The militant outfit Hizb-ul-Mujahideen had claimed responsibility for twin IED blasts that took place on Friday last week. The army has intensified patrolling and search operation on Line of Control following ‘ceasefire violations and infiltration attempts by militants in recent days’. Meanwhile, army said it held two persons on LoC in Nowshahra sector of Rajouri district and in Mankote sector of Mendhar and handed over them to police. The army has claimed that the arrested persons are residents of Pakistan administered Kashmir and are militant guides. The duo has been identified as Muhammad Fareed and Muhammad Hussain by army.
