For details, please refer to the Details section and links provided. 1. Getting Started with Mobile Apps Development : Android and iOS training Sessions 2. One-Day Short Course: Power and Leakage Reduction in Nanoscale Digital Circuits 3. Training Course in Surface Analysis for the Semiconductor Industry - Singapore & Malaysia - August 2013 -------------------------------------------------------------------- Details: -------------------------------------------------------------------- 1. Getting Started with Mobile Apps Development : Android and iOS training Sessions There will be 2 1.5-hours sessions, one each for Android and iOS programming, organized by IEEE Singapore Section & IEEE Singapore, WIE Affinity group. These sessions are aimed at providing a hands-on introduction to mobile application development on the two most popular mobile platforms. These courses are suitable for students as well as for practicing engineers / researchers for getting introduced to mobile application development. The Instructor is an experienced programmer on both the platforms. Instructor : Ms Thai Ngoc Thuy Huong Helen, Institute for Infocomm Research, A*STAR Time : Session I. Android Programming : Friday ,19 July, 6.30- 8.00pm Session II. iOS Programming : Saturday, 27 July, 10-11.30am Venue : Franklin, Level 11, Connexis South tower, Fusionopolis Registration Fee (per session) : Free for IEEE & WIE members; S$20 for non-IEEE members; S$10 for students. For further enquiries, please contact [email protected] -------------------------------------------------------------------- 2. One-Day Short Course: Power and Leakage Reduction in Nanoscale Digital Circuits This short course covers power reduction and management techniques in nanoscale digital designs. CMOS process technology scaling has enabled higher feature integration in system-on-chip with multiple CPU and graphics cores, as well as larger on-die caches. Reducing and managing power consumption is the most challenging task in today s highly complex systems. Full description of course is given in the flyer attached. Time: 31 July 2013, 9:00am - 4:00pm (Registration starts at 8:30am) Venue: Institute for Infocomm Research, Level 11, Connexis South Tower, Franklin Room, Singapore 138632. To complete the registration process, your cheque needs to be received by 15 July 2013. Training Course in Surface Analysis for the Semiconductor Industry - Singapore & Malaysia - August 2013 Working Smarter - A Course in Analytical Techniques for the Semiconductor Industry Are you facing material, surface analysis, failure analysis and QA characterization problems? This is a foundation level course intended for engineers, scientists, managers, and R&D personnel requiring knowledge of analytical methods and how these techniques can be applied most effectively to different technologies, problem solving or research situations. Learn about Surface Analysis including SIMS, XPS, Auger and more. How do they work, what can they do, what can t they do? The course will give you an overview of what is possible and it will help you to make better choices in your work. Course Highlights The latest techniques and instrumentation for surface, and thin film characterization. The techniques that are best suited in different applications. The basic fundamentals of each technique. Strengths and limitations of each technique. Instructors The course is taught by experts with many years of experience in surface analysis. Every instructor is chosen because of their deep knowledge base that spans across many different analytical techniques. Who Is EAG? EAG started in 1978 in Silicon Valley California as Charles Evans and Associates. Starting with 2 magnetic sector SIMS, the company has grown to more than 650 employees in over 20 laboratories in 7 countries, with more than 30 analytical techniques. History of Working Smarter The Evans Short Course was started in 1990 by Dr. Charles Evans and has evolved into today s Working Smarter .
