IF WE WISH, OGONI WILL GOVERN HERSELF! (1). When on January 4, 1993, Ogoni first celebrated and are still conscious of what is known as Ogoni Day; it was bcos the UN decided to recognized and impressed on member nations to recognized Indigenous Peoples all over the world. (2). When on September 13, 2007 the UN General Assembly adopted the resolution of the UNDRIP and 143 members nations signed in agreement to grant every Indigenous People within any nation the freedom to practise Self Govt; Ogoni was a subject matter. Ogoni was and is so lucky and blessed to have submitted a Bill of Right that spelt out POLITICAL AUTONOMY that will guarantee the control of Ogoni affairs by Ogoni people and, the control of Ogoni environment by Ogoni people (among others). (3). Ken was killed bcos his demands were very high and he was not ready to yield his ground. He accepted to die bcos he was not looking for any personal gains. Therefore whether he lived or died, Ogoni becoming free from internal colonialism and free to rule herself like she did around 1945 would not stop - neither imprisonment nor death will stop [our] ultimate victory. (4). Thank God that not all the members of Ken Team died or renounce the Struggle, as it were. Dr. Goodluck Diigbo escaped the hangmans noose, to continue what was planned for Ogoni. Today he has taken extraordinary steps; with mean resources, several attempts on his life to kill the Dream and with supports of the grassroot, successful laid unprecedented foundations as well as put in place, various political structures on which an Ogoni Self Government will thrive. (5). We hereby call on all lovers of Ogoni to jettison the recent inclination by Ogoni politicians and their associates to govern Rivers state (as being reason our heroes were killed) and support the legitimate strategy to reclaim all Rights of Ogoni people.
