IF YOU ARE A GOOD NETWORKER, WHY HAVE I NOT HEARD FROM YOU IN A WHILE? Sure we like to think we are good at networking, we go to lots of networking events after all, or certainly we show up to them when we need something. Sometimes we need a new job, a specific connection, someone new to meet and other times to switch it up. But just because you make that little effort it does not make you a good networker. When is the last time you had direct contact with all those important and amazing people you know? I think good networkers are what I call ACTIVE NETWORKERS and honestly, about 2 in 10 people I meet live up to it. Active Networkers dont start off conversations with, So, what do you do for a living?, they dont collect business cards and then SPAM email everyone later on trying to sell their company, app, startup or wares. You see Active Networkers build relationships, friendships and offer to help those they meet to do better. Every single day! There will always be time for selling, but your sustainable relationships are more important than bars of gold! Refer the people you meet, learn their pain points, think of your network, your resources and your ideas that might help them to ease those painful points and lets all rise up together. If everyone in the room is helping you and you in turn are helping them, well thats a salesforce you cant afford. And its one you cant afford to ignore!
