IF YOU DARED TO PUT YOUR HEAD ABOVE THE PARAPET - TopicsExpress

IF YOU DARED TO PUT YOUR HEAD ABOVE THE PARAPET In 2007 radio presenter Jon Gaunt was one of a few people in the media who came out and criticised the Mccanns and their parenting because as he said in his interview with Mccann supporter Lorraine Kelly if you dared to put your head above the parapet and criticise the Mccanns you get shot down in flames. (fantastic video to watch if anyone hasnt seen it!). A few brave souls along with Jon did dare to put their heads above the parapet and we had George Galloway voicing his concerns that the Mccanns had turned it into a media circus and admitting he had been critical from the start not least of all because he knew aspects of their story could not be true. He questioned how their vigilance of the children could be possible because the distance between the two points was greater than they had said.Jon Redwood was another early dissenter from the Party Line and dared to criticise the Mccanns only no doubt to be given a rather sharp rap on the knuckles with the result that the offending article was promptly removed from his website. As the years have passed we have been mainly subjected to the sycophantic comments in the media all towing the party line along with people like Lorraine Kelly regularly interviewing the couple but failing to actually ask any relevant questions about the numerous discrepancies between their statements, interviews and Kates book. However doing BBC Breakfast TV proud after the release of Kates book Sian Williams did pull Kate up on a comment she had made about Sean being upset which in front of the viewers Kate denied only for Sian to point out she had said it in her book. I think Sian could teach Lorraine a great deal about the art of interviewing!! We have seen dissent coming from overseas with the fantastic interview on Fox News by former US Prosecutor Wendy Murphy and Criminal Profiler Pat Brown but with the tragic and needless death of Brenda Leyland - an innocent woman who voiced her opinion but made no threats to the Mccanns - it seems that a few more UK personalities in the media are now daring to put their heads above the parapet. Could it be that having felt they had no choice of going along with the establishment line that enough is enough. The death of an innocent woman has gone one step too far and the anger and disgust that this has rightly caused has been the catalyst that has prompted media personalities to speak out. What will no doubt particularly concern the Mccanns are the comments made by Sir Alan Sugar, not someone who can be so easily dismissed by them as Alan was knighted in the 2000 New Years Honours. He has been vocal on twitter about Brendas death pointing out that if the Mccanns had not been on twitter how could she have been trolling them, a remark which I am sure will have steam coming out of Gerrys ears! He also helpfully made the point that if Brenda took her own life by pressure from the media there may be a legal case against the media for incitement to commit suicide. Katie Hopkins was another one who could not keep quiet and dared to speak out against the Mccanns asking how many more people need to die because of the negligence of the Mccanns and in a recent radio interview gave short shrift to Mccann supporter Jim Gamble referring to the complete media blackout on the Mccann issue. Another one who stepped into the fray was singer Captain Sensible who has made a number of comments criticising the case asking how many other parents of missing children get the same treatment, speaking out against the costly review when so many cuts made causing misery around the country, highlighting the dogs findings and suggesting the review should have started with the cops asking Kate to answer the questions she refused to answer. What did those in the media come out and say after the exposure of Jimmy Savile - we all heard the rumours, we knew what was going on, we knew something was wrong, but they closed their ears, looked the other way while those who were vulnerable suffered. Well people clearly know something is wrong in this case, you only have to look at the discrepancies between statements, book, interviews and the findings of the dogs. Someone has suffered in this case, an innocent child Madeleine - but the establishment, media personalities, the Press all have closed their ears, turned the other way, and in doing so let down a little girl who they continue to let down if they keep silent. Not only has Madeleine suffered so too has Goncalo Amaral and his family, the innocent children and families who have been plagued by the Press in the false sightings, Tony Bennett, and Brenda Leyland RIP and her family. Will now more media personalities have the balls to put their head above the parapet, put what is right first before being complicit in covering up what is so very wrong, think about the person who has so often been forgotten - Madeleine, put their heads above the parapet inspite of the attacks which may come their way, do the right thing for once and break the conspiracy of silence as some brave people have done but will more now do the same?
