It was an ancient, and barbarian weapon. Corey’s father was the last practitioner of the ancient art, and passed away, leaving the only other blade that compared to a former student. The art of the blade was from a time no one had a record of. It was passed along through the generations, until Corey’s village was the only one that practiced it. His father believed it was a religion, or something to be exercised for spiritual peace. Corey mastered its practice for profit, and he considered himself the only true master. Calming his mind the way he was trained, he drew, and stepped swiftly around the corner. The attack was flawless, and he withdrew to the shadows, before his opponent fell. After committing every move to memory, practicing scenarios, and upgrading his implants for higher reflex, he had become extremely deadly. The creature that he had just dispatched was unfamiliar to him anatomically. He was pretty confident it would stay down, after the two, newly separate halves fell away from each other. He sheathed his blade, and moved away from the area. Knowing that killing an enemy was the fastest way to draw a larger force to an area, he started a countdown in his mind. The enemy would notice a bisected warrior lying around at some point. It was only a matter of time before something came to investigate. Reports of enemy troops materializing on the battlefield, and disappearing at will were all over the broadcasts. He hoped, but didnt believe that they were exaggerated. Too many credible sources were telling an identical story, for them all to be wrong.
