B. “flesh” refers to everything that is the desire of the human being as human beings: all that meets their needs and wants. C. “flesh” then represents our fallen, corrupted human nature that is weak, low, debased and bent toward ungodliness. D. We are not sinful because we sin. We sin because we are sinful. E. The Word of God and the Holy Spirit equip us to crucify the flesh and live a life pleasing to God.
