IM SO ASHLAND~~~~> • Born in Kings Daughters • Lived on Williams Avenue, Winchester Avenue (twice), 49th Street, Prichard Street, Greenup Avenue, Blackburn Avenue (twice), & Lexington Avenue. • Attended Bayless, Wade Clay, Oakview, Crabbe, Coles, Ashland Senior, & Ashland Business College. • Attended church at First Baptist , Unity Baptist, & Pollard Baptist. • Swam at Southside, Central Park was my playground, circled & ate at the Bluegrass, Bowled at Blue Ribbon Lanes, & went to Saturday Matinees at Capitol Theater, saw my first LONG movie ~~ Gone With The Wind at the Paramount. Lots of lunches at Chimney Corner, Quality Bakery, Steeles Pharmacy, Murphys, & Henry Clay Lunch Counter. • Shopped at Parsons, Franks, Stars, Dons, Sears, A & P, Foodland, Jacks, Mussetters, & Ninth Street Produce, & Qualls. • Worked at the Ashland Independent for over 30 years. • Rode Ohio Valley Bus (worked for them to) & rode Yellow Cabs. • Buried my parents, brother, & other family members in Rosé Hill. • Raised my children in the area (Flatwoods). • Although I live in Nicholasville now I ALWAYS enjoy returning to visit & remember!!!
