IM SORRY-FORGIVE ME Be kind and...forgiving....just as in Christ God forgave you. EPHESIANS 4:32 INSIGHT: The four most important words to say to people you love are also the most difficult to say: Im sorry-forgive me. In your heart you may be saying , Im not altogether to blame, you know. The other person is just guilty as I am. Why should I apologize? It is not my fault. Why should I say , Im sorry-forgive me? Perhaps you are right. Its a psychological fact: the person who can forgive is healthier and happier than the one who chooses to live with bitterness and hatred. What happens when you cannot forgive? Result 1: YOUR HEALTH IS AFFECTED. There is a correlation between sound emotional and physical health and your memtal attitude. Repeatedly Ive noticed in people Ive worked with a relationship between anger and hatred and organic problems such as cancer, ulcers, hypertension, and high blood pressure. Bitterness is a cancer of the soul that erodes the body like acid. Result 2: YOU LIVE IN THE PAST. You find yourself thinking, What if this had not happened? Or, if only I had done things differently. Accepting the past, no matter how painful it may be, is one of the steps necessary to face the future. Result 3: YOUR SPIRITUAL LIFE IS AFFECTED. Jesus put it even more bluntly. If you forgive men when they sin against you, yoyr heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their sins, your father will not forgive your sins (Matthew 6:14-15). If you want Gods forgiveness, then you had better forgive your enemies. No matter how great the wrongdoing we have experienced, our failures in the sight of God are even greater. If He forgives, then we have no alternative but to learn to do the same. ---- Friends, forgiveness is never easy but God can help you. Your life will be richer and healthier for it. :) Short prayer: Heavenly Father, touch us and teach us how to forgive and forget. Lord, mahirap kung iisipin lalo na kung malaki ang nagawang pagkakasala ng aming kapwa sa amin. Pero sa tulong Niyo Lord gaano man ito kahirap ay magagawa namin sa pamamagitan Niyo.
