IMHO this is Pattis best solo concert performance ever. I cant tell you how many times Ive watched this amazing, no-holds-barred show over the years. It brings me so much joy. Patti gives her ALL on stage & no one can touch her raw talent - shes in the spirit & so free here with expressions/movements/body language that are off the charts. This used to be only on VHS and, when I lived on Doheny in BH in the early 90s, I used to rent it over & over at the video store across the street, so sad when I had to return the tape. While I own this on Laser Disc, you can find a DVD of it floating around online if you look. Thank goodness someone uploaded the FULL show on YT for free. One favorite highlight: her searing version of Labelles own Isnt It A Shame, including the infamous shoe kick-off, collapse, & roll across stage. As Patti herself puts it early in the show: My make-ups getting ready to DRIP, my hairs getting ready to DIP, and Im getting ready to FLIP! No artists these days perform LIVE with this much guts, gusto, & pure abandon. Thank you, Miss Patti.
