IMPOORTANT! ALL PESSOA LOVERS OUT THERE: CHECK THIS OUT Tomorrow there is a Pessoa conference at Casa Fernando Pessoa. The man in charge is Patricio Ferrari. And HE, ladies and gentlemen, is the reason why I am here in Lisbon. It was Patricio who, very kindly, invited me to the conference and consequently to Portugal (my trip is equally kindly sponsored by TAP and the Portuguese Embassy in Norway). It was only after his initiative that I came up with the idea to set up to bookstore here. And today, after many emails and coversations on Skype, we finally met. In Livraria do Desassossego (as you can see, Ive put up my Pessoa scarf above the entrance). Patricio is the kind of outgoing professor who is not afraid to reach out to people (and increase their interest for Pessoa). And thus the conference tomorrow, which is devoted to Pessoas English poetry (he wrote in English too) is open to the public. Check out the programme and dont be shy to show up or pop up or whatever you like. PS O Mundo é pequeno: Patricio lives in Lisboa, but originally he is from Argentina. In his younger days, he travelled to Norway, my homecountry, and even made it to the North Cape, the northernmost point in the world. I have never been there. In my younger days, I travelled in Argentina, as far as to Ushuaia, the southernmost point in the world. Patricio has never been there. But now our paths finally crossed, thanks to Pessoa.
